Job summary

Gemini Trust Company is seeking an experienced Staff Security Engineer to shape security strategy, lead design and implementation of robust controls, and ensure our infrastructure and applications are resilient against threats. You will drive risk mitigation, incident response, and governance with a strong focus on collaboration across IT, development, and operations.

The role requires deep expertise in security engineering, cloud, network, and application security, plus leadership and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10+ years of experience in security engineering with a strong background in designing and implementing security solutions.
• Deep expertise in security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Proven experience with cloud security, network security, application security, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of security strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical leadership to security engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Stay current with threats and technologies to keep defenses effective.
• Architect and design secure systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security controls, monitoring systems, and response mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineering to integrate security throughout the SDLC.
• Identify and mitigate security risks; conduct risk assessments and penetration tests.
• Lead incident response efforts and post-incident analysis.
• Mentor and train junior security engineers and foster a security-minded culture.
• Communicate risks and updates to senior management.
