Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Security Engineer focused on Third-Party Technology Security (TPS) to strengthen our security posture against external vendors and integrations. You will design scalable security programs and tooling to automate risk assessments and enforcement across the enterprise.

You will collaborate with GRC, procurement, legal, and security teams, lead incident response, and mentor engineers while driving automation and risk-based decision making.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years leading technical security reviews and risk assessments for third-party tech, SaaS, cloud services, APIs or vendor integrations.
• 5+ years security engineering with in-depth knowledge in application, cloud, or security architecture domains.
• Experience with threat modeling, security design reviews, and security governance.
• Programming experience in Java/Go/Python and building automation to improve workflows.
• Familiarity with NIST, PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 controls.

Responsibilities

• Establish a foundational TPS assessment framework that automates security requirements into the enterprise security ecosystem.
• Lead TPS design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes, controls and workflows.
• Architect AI-driven automation to accelerate vendor onboarding and provide risk metrics across LinkedIn.
• Build automation to replace manual GRC tasks using Python or agentic coding tools.
• Design workflow orchestration across systems including GRC, ticketing, and identity providers.
• Translate business requirements into scalable security solutions and decision frameworks.
• Drive program excellence with repeatable processes, SLAs, metrics and reporting.
• Manage escalations, lead technical reviews, and roadmap high-risk vendors to meet security standards.
• Act as incident commander during third-party data breaches and coordinate resolution.
