Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Security Risk Engineer to lead the Security Third Party Program. You will design, implement, and automate controls, workflows, and tooling to protect the company and customers.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Engineering, and IT to translate requirements into scalable, code-defined solutions and drive security risk reduction across vendor relationships. A remote-first environment with nationwide scope is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Information Security, Risk Management, or related roles
• Hands-on with agentic coding tools and Python, able to read, modify, and ship small automations
• Familiarity with AWS/GCP/Azure and cloud security controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 1/2, PCI DSS)
• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
• Security certifications (CISSP/CISM/CISA/CRISC) a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead and mature the Security Third Party Program with end-to-end process design and automation
• Build automation to replace manual GRC tasks across intake, triage, evidence collection, and reporting
• Design workflow orchestration across ticketing, GRC, vendor management, identity, and cloud controls
• Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Engineering, IT, Compliance, Privacy to manage third party security risk
• Translate ambiguous requirements into scalable program solutions and decision frameworks
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and prototype solutions
• Establish repeatable processes, SLAs, metrics, and reporting for third party risk
• Evaluate third party controls, cloud architectures, integration patterns, and risk posture
• Conduct light threat modeling for high-risk integrations
• Manage a portfolio of complex security risk reviews and initiatives
• Partner with technical teams to implement or optimize automation tools
• Develop dashboards and program insights (SQL, BI tooling) for risk trends and bottlenecks
• Act as SME on third party security risk management and risk-based decisions
• Contribute to scaling security governance through engineering
