Job summary

Uber seeks a Staff Security Engineer, Vulnerability Management to lead the evolution of our Vulnerability Management Platform and architect the next generation of RBVM systems, transforming how we identify, prioritize, and remediate exposure across a massive digital footprint.

You will drive technical excellence across on-prem, cloud, container security, and corporate endpoint hygiene, mentoring engineers and pushing AI-driven remediation workflows at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development focused on large-scale security or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience building distributed systems and high-availability security platforms.
• Strong knowledge of container security, cloud-native infra, and CI/CD.
• Experience leading cross-functional security initiatives and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• RBVM Platform Architecture: Design and scale Security Posture Management tools for unified vulnerability view across on‑prem, cloud, containers, VMs and endpoints.
• Automation & Orchestration: Build automated remediation workflows to reduce median response times.
• Technical Strategy: Lead Shift-Left by integrating vulnerability scanning into dev workflows, CI/CD, and infrastructure provisioning.
• AI/ML Innovation: Use LLMs and AI agents for automated triage and remediation instructions.
• Vulnerability Governance: Partner with Compliance and IT to mature standards and SLAs across the estate.
• Vulnerability Analysis: Provide deep security SME to analyze vulnerabilities and guide remediation decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, product, and operations to improve posture.
