Qualifications

• 7+ years of incident response experience or 5+ years with a Master’s degree
• Cloud security expertise across AWS, GCP or Azure
• Proficiency in AI/LLM and agentic security capabilities
• Broad security expertise across domains
• Core IR skills in DFIR, reverse engineering, network security
• Experience with enterprise security and SaaS applications

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents as part of a 24x7 operations and on-call schedule
• Triage and respond to security events and alerts for containment
• Conduct analysis and forensics to determine timelines and impacts
• Provide technical leadership and influence team direction
• Develop AI-powered autonomous capabilities for security
• Communicate decisions through design docs and tech talks
• Mentor junior security responders

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Security Engineer, Incident Response to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will play a key part in strengthening the organization's security posture by leading incident response efforts across cloud and SaaS environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical judgment, hands-on forensic expertise, and the ability to guide response actions that reduce risk and limit impact. You will also help shape how the team uses AI and agentic capabilities to improve security operations and response effectiveness.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $130,000 - $155,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents as part of a 24x7 operations and on-call schedule
• Triage and respond to security events and alerts for effective containment
• Conduct analysis and forensics to determine timelines and impacts of security events
• Provide technical leadership and influence team direction
• Develop solutions leveraging AI and agentic platforms for autonomous capabilities
• Communicate technical decisions through design docs and tech talks
• Mentor junior security responders through guidance and reviews

Qualifications

• Active or current US GOV Secret clearance eligibility; Top Secret preferred
• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years in incident response, or Master's degree with 5+ years
• Cloud security expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure; proficiency in others
• Proficiency in AI/LLM and agentic capabilities, with experience in security settings
• Broad security subject matter expertise across various domains
• Core IR skills in DFIR, reverse engineering, network security, and related areas
• Experience with enterprise security and SaaS applications
