Fractile in London or Bristol is seeking a Member of Technical Staff - Security Engineering to strengthen security across bare metal, RTOS and embedded Linux, from boot to runtime protections.

You will translate threat models into concrete mechanisms, design secure boot and root-of-trust, harden interconnects, and collaborate with architecture and hardware teams. This role offers competitive pay, meaningful equity, and a diverse, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security experience across hardware and software.
• Ability to translate threat models into concrete mechanisms.
• Strong skills in C and Rust with memory-safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Shape the security of the control chain: threat models and trust boundaries across platforms.
• Design and implement secure boot, root of trust, and signing/verification mechanisms.
• Secure interconnects with authentication and integrity protections.
• Develop cryptographic provisioning, device identity and remote attestation.
• Ensure safe firmware updates end-to-end across the chain.
• Harden the host kernel and on-die firmware, in collaboration with hardware teams.
• Collaborate with architecture and software teams to drive fixes and threat-model reviews.
