Aurora in Mountain View, CA, invites applications for a Staff Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Security Engineering team. You will architect and implement security controls across endpoints, identities, and internal infrastructure, building scalable security platforms that protect Aurora’s assets.

This role blends coding with security design, demanding deep technical expertise and collaboration with IT and Engineering to embed security from the start.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise security engineering or corporate information security; focus on endpoints, identities, and internal infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language used in security context (Go preferred; Python common).
• Experience architecting and integrating enterprise security platforms with API integrations and automation.
• Experience designing security telemetry pipelines, log ingestion, SIEM integration, and alerting architecture.
• Experience leading cross-functional security engineering projects and translating findings into remediation plans.
• Familiarity with security posture evaluation and building durable, systemic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and implementation of Aurora's enterprise security controls across endpoints, identities, infrastructure, and SaaS.
• Design and build security telemetry and detection infrastructure, including log pipelines, SIEM integrations, and alerting frameworks.
• Define and enforce enterprise security standards and conduct design reviews to ensure risk-aligned posture.
• Partner with IT, Infrastructure and Engineering to embed security requirements early in projects.
• Build automation and tooling to extend security platforms and scale the team’s impact.
• Serve as escalation point for enterprise security incidents requiring engineering-level investigation.
• Translate security strategy into executable engineering projects with clear milestones.
