Job summary

Okta in the United States is expanding the Defensive Cyber Engineering team with a Staff Software Engineer role focused on security data platforms and enterprise security tooling. You will build data and infrastructure solutions across cloud platforms, automating workflows and enforcing security controls.

You will collaborate with Security, Business Technology Engineering, and Product teams to deliver scalable, secure infrastructure, integrating log sources and onboarding security data into data

Qualifications

• 8+ years of coding and scripting experience
• Python required; other languages a plus
• Experience ETL/ELT pipelines for security data
• Experience integrating log sources and data ingestion
• Build scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines
• Automation of security controls with cloud-first approach
• Terraform and IaC tools for security infra
• CI/CD pipelines for security automation and drift management
• Strong communication with various stakeholders and teams

Responsibilities

• Serve as a security SME for solution engineering and Architecture reviews
• Lead efforts to evaluate, design, and implement new enterprise security systems
• Build and maintain custom automation and cloud infrastructure (Terraform)
• Develop integrations with APIs and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Write scripts and automations (Python) to streamline security operations
• Establish monitoring and alerting for security posture and threats
• Identify and remediate security gaps and stay updated on threats
