Job summary

Physical Electronics USA Inc. (PHI) is seeking a dynamic Staff Scientist to join our Analytical Laboratory. You will lead demonstrations, provide on-site training, and deliver solutions by testing software/hardware and shaping next-generation instrumentation in XPS, AES, and SIMS.

You will translate complex surface-analysis data into clear, practical insights for customers and contribute to marketing materials and cross-functional projects within PHI’s global team.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Science, or a master's with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with XPS instrumentation.
• Knowledge of AES and/or SIMS is a plus.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in operation and application of surface-analysis instrumentation.
• Analyze and interpret results.
• Prepare demonstration reports communicating analytical results and instrument strengths to customers.
• Ensure instrumentation is operating to specification for demonstrations.
• Provide on-site instrument training at customer locations and tailor training materials.
• Develop marketing materials for the surface-analysis product line.
• Support cross-functional activities, including software testing and tender documents.
• Participate in new-product planning as expert user and customer advocate.
• Represent PHI at scientific conferences.
