The Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is seeking a Staff Scientist in its Nanofabrication Facility to lead a research program in microelectronics and precision materials synthesis, and to build a world-class user program focused on these topics. Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of nanofabrication experience, including microelectronics fabrication.
• Ability to mentor students and staff, and to support users.
• Excellent oral and written communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead an independent nanofabrication program aligned with microelectronics themes.
• Guide users and collaborators, supporting external and internal research.
• Publish results in refereed journals and present at conferences.
• Develop and implement safe, efficient fabrication workflows in class 100 cleanroom.
