Job summary

This position is local to project sites and offers a hybrid work environment, combining field-based work with remote flexibility.We are looking for a motivated Environmental Scientist/Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) to join our growing team. This is a mid-level stormwater professional role and is a great fit for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute within a collaborative environment while making a positive impact on the environment.**What You’ll Do*** Support environmental and stormwater compliance projects* Conduct stormwater inspections and field evaluations* Develop and implement Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs)* Perform stormwater sampling and site monitoring activities* Complete desktop evaluations and site assessments* Provide on-site training and guidance to construction crews* Prepare documentation, reporting, and compliance records* Assist clients with regulatory compliance and pollution prevention efforts* Collaborate with internal teams on routine and complex projects* Support additional initiatives and special projects as assigned* Travel to project sites, including occasional overnight travel and extended hours as needed**What You’ll Bring*** Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field* 2+ years of experience in stormwater compliance or SWPPP-related work* Knowledge of stormwater regulations, water quality practices, and environmental compliance* Experience with inspection, sampling, and reporting processes* Familiarity with erosion control, site stabilization, and restoration practices* Understanding of California stormwater regulations and permitting (preferred)* Strong communication skills and ability to train field teams* Proficiency in documentation and compliance tracking systems* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites**Nice to Have*** QSP/QSD certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)* Additional certifications (CESSWI, CPESC, CPSWQ, QISP, PE, PG)* Experience with SMARTS and California Construction General Permit* Exposure to environmental permitting or natural resources work* Familiarity with industry tools such as ArcGIS**Salary Range:**$60,000.00 - $85,000.00**Benefits:*** Flexible Work Environment* Paid Parental Leave* Medical* Dental* Vision* Life and AD&D Insurance* Short-Term and Long-Term Disability* 401(k) with Company Match* Paid Time Off + Holidays*Verdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
