Job summary

7Seventy is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve secure, high-performance runtime infrastructure for large-scale GraphQL systems. You’ll work hands-on across design, implementation, and production operations, collaborating with enterprise customers and multiple teams.

The role emphasizes Rust-based development, fault-tolerant architectures, and leadership in technical decisions, architecture discussions, and on-call reliability responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Rust with high-performance, maintainable code.
• Knowledge of stateless and fault-tolerant system design.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems paradigms.
• Hands-on production debugging and operational ownership across large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain fault-tolerant GraphQL runtime infrastructure, primarily in Rust.
• Design systems prioritizing security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Triage and resolve escalations from enterprise customers using large-scale GraphQL deployments.
• Operate and improve durable public APIs used by demanding workloads.
• Mentor engineers in designing scalable, idiomatic Rust code and conduct effective code reviews.
• Lead architectural discussions and cross-team technical initiatives.
