Job summary

Nidus is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware architecture for robotic data-collection platforms and customer workcells. This senior individual-contributor role drives cross-disciplinary tradeoffs and standards, from requirements to fleet deployment, to scale autonomous manufacturing in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years leading hardware programs in robotics or electromechanical systems.
• Deep proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks/Onshape) and mechanical fundamentals.
• Ability to work in person in NYC and travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the design of hardware platforms, end effectors, and workcells.
• Collaborate with ML and data teams to optimize sensor placement and hardware config.
• Drive hardware programs from requirements through prototyping, validation, production, and deployment.
