Job summary

Agility Robotics is seeking a Staff Robotics Architect - Electrical Hardware in Fremont, CA to lead the electrical architecture for humanoid robotic platforms. You will partner with systems, mechanical, software, perception, safety, and control teams to evolve architecture while ensuring scalable, reliable integration of core subsystems.

This senior role requires 8+ years in robotics hardware with strong leadership in electrical design, firmware, and system-level modeling; hybrid work

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in robotics hardware development, including at least 3 years leading electrical product development or as a lead engineer.
• 5+ years experience with electrical system design including actuator development, power systems design, PCBA design, component selection, and layout.
• 3+ years experience with firmware development from bare-metal to network integration.
• Deep understanding of robotic system design and actuator/transmission design with tradeoffs in mass, thermals, sensing, power, compute, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end robotics electrical system architecture, ensuring scalable, reliable integration of perception, compute, actuation, control, and safety systems.
• Provide technical direction to other architects and across teams, guiding design of high-performance robotic subsystems.
• Lead trade studies and architecture reviews balancing performance, functional safety, complexity, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
• Partner with software/controls and simulation teams to grounding architecture in system-level modeling, simulation, and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, test, and integration teams to translate architecture into testable, traceable requirements.
• Influence long-term roadmap and product direction by translating user needs and R&D findings into architectural evolution.
