Job summary

The ICU Staff RN at Marshall Medical Center in Placerville, CA provides nursing care within the ICU, assumes accountability for patient outcomes, follows the nursing process, and acts as a patient advocate. They supervise any non-professional staff involved in care to maintain quality and safety.

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ICU Staff RN provides nursing care according to Marshall Medical Center’s (MMC’s) standard of practice, assuming responsibility and accountability for ICU patients within designated time frames, following the nursing process. The ICU RN supports ICU’s mission to deliver compassionate evidence-based care to critically ill patients and their family members. This position functions as a patient advocate at all times and oversees the performance of any non-professional whose activities impact patient care.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensure/Education:

• Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.

Knowledge:

• 2 years previous RN experience required.

Skills:

• Has the physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish the duties of a Registered Nurse and is able to meet the pharmacology requirements of Marshall Medical Center.

New Grad RN Qualifications_:_

• Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License or Interim Permit with scheduled National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) date.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Candidates who completed senior preceptorship in ICU preferred.
• Candidates with acute care work experience, particularly in ICU preferred.
