Job Summary
As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.

- Communicates and discusses care plans with patients and families.
- Ensures patient safety, effective pain management, and patient education regarding medications and procedures.
Documentation
- Ensures accurate, legible, and timely charting.
- Uses electronic systems effectively for patient care documentation.
Clinical Outcomes
- Discusses patient findings and progress with the team.
- Participates in departmental quality improvement activities.
- Makes nursing decisions based on data interpretation and patient outcomes.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum six months of recent experience in an acute or sub-acute setting.

License, Certification, Registration
- California RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
