Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center's Emergency Dept in Lancaster, OH is seeking a registered nurse for the night shift. The role requires assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and supervising patient care using the nursing process, with a focus on family-centered care.

You will document thoroughly, work with physicians and the care team, administer medications and treatments, and ensure compliance with FMC policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program leading to a nursing credential (Diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR certification is required.
• Previous nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and supervise patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge.
• Provide thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process.
• Work closely with physicians and other team members addressing patient/family concerns to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Administer medications and perform treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Ensure clinic processes and workflows comply with FMC policies and procedures.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.

Must be able to physically exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
