Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, OH is seeking a registered nurse for a night shift in 5th Med/Surg at FMC Main Campus. This full-time role offers a $15,000 bonus and requires heavy patient care responsibilities.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, educate families, document thoroughly, coordinate with physicians, administer medications, and ensure department processes comply with FMC policies. Strong nursing credentials and Ohio license are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, an Associate's Degree, or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR is required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care using the nursing process from admission through discharge.
• Provides education for the patient and family throughout the care journey.
• Maintains thorough, accurate documentation of the nursing process.
• Collaborates with physicians and team members to ensure smooth care transitions.
• Administers medications and performs treatments safely.
• Ensures policies are followed and equipment is ready for patient care.

Job Description

The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation of care.

• Provides quality nursing care based on a family centered approach.
• Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process.
• Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process.
• Works closely with physicians and other team members addressing patient/family concerns to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with FMC policies and procedures.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.

Qualifications: Job Qualifications

Must be able to physically exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
