Job summary

Lake Huron Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe patient care on the Night shift, using the nursing process and collaborating with physicians. You will guide patient and family teaching while maintaining standards of care in the DOU.

Required licensure and certifications include an active State RN license, BLS upon hire, ACLS, and BSN preferred. This is a part-time position at a 139-bed community hospital in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Current and valid State RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct patient care within the scope of practice and patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and test results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the DOU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid State RN License.

2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
