Schedule: Days - 40hrs

Hiring Bonus: $10,000

A Brief Overview
Prescribes, delegates and coordinates professional nursing care to pediatric patients through the use of nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy/procedure. Meets job specific standards. Demonstrates competency in identified skills for area.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts holistic age-specific patient/family assessments upon admission according to defined standards. Ongoing patient/family assessments/reassessments are completed according to the appropriate CPG or protocols and unit standard of care.
  • Identifies nursing diagnoses, collaborative problems, and/or protocols for each patient, based on assessment, at the time of admission. Revises plan of care based on patient condition and interdisciplinary input
  • Develops individualized patient/family plans of care using CPG’s or protocols to meet physical, psychosocial, developmental and educational needs. Revises plan of care based on patient condition and in collaboration with appropriate disciplines
  • Implements nursing actions in accordance with the patient/family plan of care and patient condition/needs.
  • Evaluates nursing actions to include patient/parent response and progression toward goal/ outcome, revising as necessary
  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.
  • Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section


Education Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required or
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience, preferably in pediatrics Required and
  • Previous experience with EPIC Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Other certifications/education as defined by area specific job competencies

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state of Nebraska Required and
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association Required

The Behavioral Health & Wellness Center at Children’s Nebraska will be a world-class facility providing the full spectrum of pediatric behavioral and mental health services for children and their families. Located on our main hospital campus to provide a convenient continuum of care, the center will offer a crisis assessment center, behavioral health urgent care, 40 single-occupancy inpatient beds, a partial hospitalization program and outpatient services – all guided by our innovative, trauma-informed model of care.
