Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 4th Med/Surg at the FMC Main Campus in Lancaster, OH. This full-time night-shift position includes a $15,000 bonus and requires strong clinical nursing skills and teamwork.

The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using the nursing process, provides patient and family education, and collaborates with physicians to ensure safe transitions of care.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ASN/BSN) to qualify for licensure.
• Valid Ohio nursing license.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50–100 pounds occasionally and 25–50 pounds frequently; may require frequent patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide education for patient and family from admission through discharge.
• Document nursing care thoroughly and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and correctly.
• Ensure clinic processes comply with FMC policies and procedures.
• Maintain equipment and supplies readiness for patient care.

Job Description

• The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation of care.
• Provides quality nursing care based on a family centered approach.
• Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process.
• Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process.
• Works closely with physicians and other team members addressing patient/family concerns to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with FMC policies and procedures.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in one of the following:
• Diploma in Nursing
• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• Must be able to physically exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
