Cognitiv is seeking a Staff Research Scientist to join the New Initiatives team in Bellevue or San Mateo, blending deep technical research with product intuition. You will spot opportunities, prove them technically, and drive them from idea to shipped product.

The role requires leadership across research, engineering, product and executive stakeholders in a fast-paced AdTech environment. You'll work on AudienceGPT, ContextGPT, AI Personas, and embedding systems, shaping the next generation of

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience in ML R&D or applied ML.
• Deep understanding of AdTech, programmatic advertising, and RTB landscape.
• Track record of originating ideas and turning ambiguity into a concrete plan.
• A shipped 0-to-1 product from idea to launch in startup or new-initiative teams.
• Strong technical expertise in PyTorch, Transformers, and LLMs, including large-scale training and fine-tuning.
• Strong Python fundamentals and software engineering practice for real-time, high-throughput systems.
• Able to explain technical work clearly to non-technical audiences and drive product narratives.
• Bias to action and initiative; proactive ownership across research, engineering, and product.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Generate product ideas by tracking AdTech, programmatic and LLM trends and building a solid business case.
• Prototype fast using LLMs, embeddings, and deep learning to validate ideas.
• Own ideas end-to-end from concept to production-ready systems in collaboration with engineering.
• Extend modeling for AudienceGPT, ContextGPT, and AI Personas; explore next-gen systems.
• Shape product narratives with product and marketing for public launches.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and feed roadmap with new insights on AdTech and RTB.
• Collaborate across research, engineering, product and executives to test and ship ideas.
