Job summary

Careerflow Human Data Labs is seeking a Staff Research Engineer to advance frontier AI systems. You will design experiments, build research-grade prototypes, and collaborate with Research, Engineering, Product, and Operations to translate ideas into scalable applications.

You will contribute to synthetic data generation, reinforcement learning, post-training, model understanding, benchmarks, and evaluation, while mentoring engineers and communicating findings to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in AI, ML, CS, or closely related field.
• 7+ years of professional research engineering experience in ML or frontier AI.
• Strong foundations in ML and practical experience designing experiments and training models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on frontier AI systems and define impactful questions.
• Develop research-grade datasets, experiments, prototypes, tooling, and evaluation frameworks.
• Train, test, and evaluate models using modern AI and ML tools.
• Translate research findings into product improvements and communicate results clearly.
