Job summary

Renesas is seeking a Staff Reliability Engineer, Quality Assurance to own product reliability and quality from development to production. The role requires a deep understanding of IC reliability, qualification planning, and cross-functional collaboration on global teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating qualification, scheduling tests, data analysis for NPI/ORT, driving failure analyses, and delivering reports to internal teams and customers. Strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related fields.
• 8+ years of reliability engineering experience for ICs or semiconductor components.
• Knowledge of IC reliability test methodologies (HTOL, ELFR, HTDR/LTDR, ESD/LU, uHAST, TCT, HTSL, BHAST, etc.).
• Familiar with JEDEC families, AEC-Q100/Q006 standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating with global cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proficient in written and verbal English communications.
• Coordinate reliability qualification, test scheduling, and data analysis for NPI/ORT/quality incidents.
• Drive failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Prepare qualification plans and reports; investigate reliability issues and root causes.

Staff Reliability Engineer, Quality Assurance

In this role, the candidate will own the product reliability and quality of integrated circuits from development through production to ensure our products meet industry standards, customer expectations, and long-term performance requirements. Therefore, a deep understanding of product reliability and experience is essential.

• MS or PhD degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related fields with minimum of 8+ years work experience in reliability engineering related to integrated circuits or other semiconductor components.
• Good knowledge of IC reliability test methodologies (eg, HTOL, ELFR, HTDR/LTDR, ESD/LU, uHAST, TCT, HTSL, BHAST, etc), physical mechanisms, reliability acceleration models, statistical analysis, and FA techniques.( must be familiar of the test areas for this role per HM request)
• Familiar with industry standards, such as JEDEC families, AEC-Q100/Q006, etc.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experienced in collaborating with global, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proficient in written and verbal English communications.
• Coordinate product reliability qualification, test scheduling, and data analysis for NPI, ORT, quality incident activities.
• Drive failure analysis activities and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare qualification plans and reports for internal teams and customers.

Pay Transparency

The expected annual pay range for this position is $136,000-170,000K. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
