Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in the Clinic Electrophysiology Lab in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

Aurora Health Care is the first site in Wisconsin to do dual leadless pacemakers and is also a Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) program participant.

The role involves working with electrophysiologists in an ambulatory setting, caring for patients with heart rhythm issues and implanted cardiac devices, with opportunities for continuing education in a growing specialty.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, tailored to age-specific needs.
• Assess educational needs, provide teaching and counseling to patients and families.
• Recognize changes in patient status, determine care priorities, and update care plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate clinical and patient records.
• Provide telephone consultation/triage as per protocol.
• Participate in community education and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in staff orientation and educational activities.
• Follow policies and procedures, and strive to advance clinical skills, including certification as warranted.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

• RN license issued by the practicing state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.

Education:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.

Experience:

• Typically 2 years in acute care nursing, with experience in applicable clinical specialties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work independently, make sound judgments.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task with interruptions.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, reach.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, 20 lbs over head, carry 40 lbs, push/pull 30 lbs.
• May be exposed to hazardous materials and body fluids, requiring protective equipment.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills.
