Job summary

Gibson Dunn, a leading global law firm, seeks a Staff Recruiter to own the full recruiting cycle for senior roles across national and international teams. You’ll partner with managers to design strategic plans and ensure compliant processes, from sourcing to onboarding.

The role requires strong communication, ethical handling of sensitive data, and a track record in recruitment within a legal environment. On-site collaboration in LA area is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience in a legal environment preferred.
  • Proven experience as a full-cycle recruiter.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software.
  • Experience seeking and placing talent globally (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for high-level staff positions across national/international Global Services departments.
  • Develop strategic recruitment plans aligned with the firm’s goals.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure compliant, efficient recruitment processes.
  • Source candidates via job boards and platforms to build a strong pipeline.
  • Coordinate with agency search firms, review terms, and manage offers.
  • Maintain ATS data and complete pre-employment checks and onboarding.

Summary:

Based in Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, San Francisco or Palo Alto, the Staff Recruiter will oversee the entire recruitment process for high level requisitions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of full-cycle recruitment and effectively manage all areas of the recruitment process, from sourcing to onboarding.

This position is responsible for creating a positive and personalized experience for candidates, agency contacts and hiring managers while driving efficiencies and ensuring compliance.

This role reports to Manager, Staff Recruiting.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage the entire recruitment process of high-level staff positions, from requisition through onboarding and integration, for various national and international Global Services departments.
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans to attract top talent, aligning with the firm’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Partner with hiring managers to fully understand role requirements and provide guidance on recruiting best practices to ensure compliance, consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain information regardingmarket data and talent availabilityand leverage this information to provide guidance to hiring managers.
  • Actively source candidates through job boards and other recruitment platforms to ensure a strong candidate pipeline.Leverage alternative resources and tools to ensure a strategic sourcing model.
  • Partner and build strong relationships with agency search firms to effectively communicate Gibson Dunn’s culture and strengthen and grow candidate pipeline when additional support is required. Review and negotiate contractual terms to the best interest of the Firm.
  • Review and refer qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate candidates’ expertise.
  • Track and maintain all recruiting activities and files.
  • Extend verbal and written offers of employment and manage offer negotiations.
  • Maintain the firm’s applicant tracking system, and ensure configuration is up to date.
  • Complete pre-employment checks and ensure timely entry into the firm’s onboarding platform for all new hires.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to create meaningful onboarding and integration plans for new hires.
  • Establish and track key recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill and cost-per-hire. Report key findings to leadership on a consistent basis.
  • Partner with Staff Recruiting Manager to drive and lead various department initiatives.
  • Continuously assess recruitment processes, tools and resources to furtherenhance the candidate experience.
  • Proactively identify ways to improve the overall candidate and hiring manager experience, while ensuring efficiency and accountability throughout the entire process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to manage multiple roles simultaneously and reprioritize responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles with a full understanding of recruiting practices.
  • Capable of maintaining confidence of personal and highly sensitive information.
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment with ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the firm, along with managing productive working relationships.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in recruiting or talent acquisition within a legal environment is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a full-cycle recruiter.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software
  • Demonstrated experience seeking and placing talent globally (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
