Job summary

Fortinet, Inc. is seeking engineers to develop and maintain media-related backend services enabling real-time communication, including audio, video, and screen sharing.

You will implement efficient media routing, session management, and signaling, while optimizing latency and adapting bitrate for diverse networks. The role requires C++ and/or Go, expertise in WebRTC and real-time protocols, and experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ and/or Go, with emphasis on performance.
• Strong understanding of real-time streaming protocols and WebRTC fundamentals (ICE, DTLS, RTP, SRTP).
• Experience building low-latency distributed systems or backends for communication.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and cloud environments.
• Good communication and focus on performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain media-related backend services for real-time communication (audio, video, screen sharing).
• Implement efficient media routing, session management, and signaling services.
• Optimize performance with adaptive bitrate, congestion control, and low-latency streaming.
• Collaborate with the control plane and client teams for seamless integration.
• Monitor and improve media service scalability, resilience, and observability.
