Job summary

IonQ in Santa Clara, CA is hiring a Staff QA Software Engineer to own quality for our SaaS-based Quantum Security Posture Management platform. This lead-level, full-time role focuses on rigorous, product-level testing—functional correctness, regression coverage, and automation.

You will design, write, and execute detailed test cases for features such as network discovery, topology mapping, policy analyses, posture scoring, alerting, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of QA/testing experience in SaaS or enterprise infrastructure products.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts.
• Foundational security knowledge including firewall policies and security best practices.
• Experience with manual and automated testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, Postman/Newman) and defect tracking (Jira).

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and execute detailed test cases and test plans for platform features (network discovery, topology mapping, posture scoring, alerting, reporting).
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and API testing across releases.
• Collaborate with developers to catch defects early and ensure quality in every release.
