Job summary

Tatari is hiring a Staff QA Engineer to raise testing standards across our buying platform. You will design and implement an end-to-end automation framework using Playwright, write core framework code, and drive testing best practices across teams.

Lead testing strategy, mentor engineers, and integrate tests into CI/CD. Must have strong TS/Python skills and SQL proficiency, with 7+ years in QA roles.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or Software Engineer focused on automated testing and QA methodologies.
• Expert in automated E2E testing (Playwright preferred; Cypress or Selenium acceptable).
• Strong TypeScript and Python skills (Jest/pytest); React familiarity; SQL proficiency.
• Experience building test automation frameworks for UI, APIs, and microservices at scale.
• Ability to set testing strategy and standards and drive adoption across teams.
• Strong communication skills for leadership and mentoring.
• Total compensation ($170,000 - 200,000/annually) with equity and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Tatari’s end-to-end test automation framework (Playwright); write core framework code and tests.
• Set technical direction for test automation, tooling, architecture, and best practices; produce reference code/docs.
• Write and improve unit/integration tests (TypeScript/Jest, Python/pytest); create fixtures and helpers.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD; fix flaky tests, speed up runs, improve observability, release gates.
• Build data validation tooling (SQL checks, API contracts, test data for sandbox/staging).
• Do hands-on exploratory testing on high-risk workflows; review tests and automation code.
• Provide risk assessments and coverage data to engineering/product leadership.
• Mentor others via pairing, docs, and technical interview participation.
