Job summary

WD is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the wafer manufacturing quality team in California. You will perform wafer FA, drive MRR/PDR readiness, and lead CAPA closures to prevent recurrence, using AI-enabled quality monitoring tools to improve defect detection and reliability.

The ideal candidate has a technical engineering degree and 3+ years in semiconductor QA, with strong analytical and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Familiarity with FMEA, SPC, and wafer processes is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years in QA/quality engineering in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Experience with AI/ML or generative AI is a plus.
• Familiarity with FMEA and wafer process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform wafer FA and provide disposition for customer issues.
• Facilitate MRR and PDR readiness reviews.
• Drive 8D CAPA closures to prevent recurrence.
• Lead FMEA activities across wafer fab.
