Position: Staff Psychologist, Brandeis Counseling Center
Location: Brandeis University – Waltham, MA

Staff Psychologist - Wide-ranging clinical expertise and cultural responsiveness to support students from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

Our Brandeis Counseling Center (BCC) plays a vital role in nurturing the emotional well‑being of a dynamic, richly varied student population, and passionate student body. We are looking for a collaborative and compassionate psychologist to join our team as Staff Psychologist — Someone who brings wide-ranging clinical expertise and cultural responsiveness to support students from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

The hiring range for this position is $61,100 - $117,500. (level and salary are commensurate with experience)

What You will Do
  • Support student wellness: Deliver short-term, solution-focused individual therapy, crisis intervention, and case management as needed.
  • Foster learning: Conduct outreach programs and workshops to promote mental health awareness to students and staff.
  • Collaborate across campus: Work closely with student‑facing departments within the Student Affairs Division, as well as our campus partners at the Intercultural Center, Gender and Sexuality Center, Academic Services, Posse, Upward Bound, and other initiatives supporting students broadly to ensure holistic student support.
  • Advance access: Support our mission to be a center that provides access to a wide range of students.
  • Provide training and support: Offer training, technical assistance, consultation, and support to colleagues across campus and within the Brandeis Counseling Center.
What You Bring
  • Current licensure in the state of Massachusetts as a licensed psychologist or expectation that candidate is licensed-eligible within 12 months of hire.
  • Has experience providing counseling services in an outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide culturally responsive care and work effectively with students from a broad range of backgrounds, identities, and communities. A warm, team‑oriented approach and genuine enthusiasm for being visible and involved on campus. Our team often presents at running groups, connecting with students at outreach events, and participating in mental health training for campus staff.
