Job summary

Form Energy in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Staff Project Manager to drive early project deployments within our Project Engineering team in Commercial Operations. You will lead design, build, and operation of utility-scale storage projects alongside EPC partners and internal teams, shaping growth for breakthrough multi-day storage technology.

You will manage budgets, schedules, milestones, and key communications with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, while mitigating risks and ensuring

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related experience in project management or leading engineering/product development
  • 4+ years of experience in energy project construction
  • Resourceful and collaborative team player capable of working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup
  • High attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in engineering or a physical science

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track project budget, schedule, and scope, including change management
  • Track project milestones and communicate project design and performance status to customers and partners
  • Be the primary customer contact from Form Energy for outward communication and ongoing customer support
  • Support the business development team’s contract structuring, negotiations, and deal evaluations
  • Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and execute mitigation actions
  • Establish and maintain project reporting for budget and schedule
  • Manage outside vendor and contractor relationships from procurement through delivery and payment
  • Travel to client or project sites up to 30% of the time

Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Staff Project Manager to drive the success of early project deployments. This role reports into our Project Engineering team which is part of the Commercial Operations organization. The team is instrumental in designing, building, commissioning, and operating utility‑scale storage projects and will be invaluable in scaling Form’s breakthrough multi‑day storage technology. You will lead project deployment and work closely with EPC partners and customers externally and with Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics internally. What you’ll do:
  • Manage and track project budget, schedule, and scope, including change management
  • Track project milestones and communicate project design and performance status to customers and other project partners
  • Be a primary customer contact from Form Energy, responsible for outward communication and ongoing customer support, including contractual, technical and strategic matters
  • Support the business development team’s contract structuring, negotiations, and deal evaluations
  • Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and execute mitigation actions
  • Establish and maintain project reporting for budget and schedule
  • Manage outside vendor and contractor relationships from procurement through delivery and payment
  • Travel to client or project sites up to 30% of the time
What you’ll bring:
