Yoh Services LLC, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a Staff Program Manager for a 6-month contract in a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA or San Mateo, CA. You will lead portfolio planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination with Product, Engineering, Finance, PMO, and executives.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in program/portfolio management, proven cross-functional leadership, and strong communication skills to drive initiatives from planning through delivery.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Staff Program Manager to join our Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) team. In this highly visible role, you will drive portfolio planning, operational execution, and cross-functional coordination across a complex organization. You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Finance, PMO, and executive stakeholders to ensure portfolio initiatives are planned, executed, and tracked effectively.

This position is ideal for a senior program management professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at managing multiple priorities, and can independently drive cross-functional programs from planning through execution.

What You'll Do Portfolio Planning & Execution

• Lead the execution and coordination of portfolio planning activities, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Program Management, and other stakeholders to support planning and delivery timelines.
• Maintain integrated project plans, schedules, trackers, action logs, and planning documentation.
• Monitor progress against key milestones and proactively identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and issues requiring escalation.
• Coordinate the collection and validation of resource, budget, dependency, and program planning inputs.
• Support leadership and portfolio review sessions by preparing materials, coordinating stakeholder feedback, tracking decisions, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.

Portfolio Operations

• Execute Strategic Portfolio Management processes and operating rhythms, including portfolio reviews, quarterly planning activities, governance meetings, and status reporting.
• Communicate portfolio health, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and action items to key stakeholders.
• Maintain visibility into critical portfolio information and ensure plans, decisions, timelines, and reporting artifacts remain accurate and up to date.
• Identify cross-program dependencies and facilitate alignment across teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Support governance processes by managing required inputs, documentation, decision tracking, and action follow-through.

Program Management

• Coordinate complex initiatives across multiple teams, creating clear workstreams, objectives, owners, deliverables, and timelines.
• Facilitate planning sessions, working meetings, and portfolio reviews while capturing actions, decisions, and next steps.
• Drive assigned projects and deliverables independently, leveraging strong judgment and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges.
• Identify, assess, track, and escalation risks that could impact portfolio objectives.
• Partner closely with Portfolio Operations leadership to execute strategic priorities and adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Program Management, Portfolio Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven success leading complex cross-functional programs and portfolio initiatives in large, matrixed organizations.
• Advanced expertise in:

  • Schedule and milestone management
  • Dependency management
  • Risk management
  • Stakeholder communication and coordination
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple high-priority initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Finance, PMO, and business stakeholders.
• Strong experience supporting executive leadership reviews and coordinating deliverables for strategic decision-making.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) organizations.
• Experience supporting large-scale product, technology, or enterprise portfolios.
• Familiarity with portfolio governance frameworks, quarterly planning processes, and executive reporting.

Estimated Min Rate: $49.00

Estimated Max Rate: $70.00
