Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Staff Product Manager, Activation to own and optimize the agentic onboarding experience, ensuring seamless setup and ongoing value across security and compliance platforms. You will lead product activation initiatives spanning Sales, Success, and Engineering, driving end-to-end onboarding and time-to-value for customers.

As the PM for Activation & Onboarding, you'll own conversion and activation for Vanta's agentic self-serve front door, building and relentlessly optimizing an experience where the Vanta agent sets up and runs each customer's security program, seamlessly connected to the sales and success teams who support customers along the way.

The Activation & Onboarding team is building the agentic front door to Vanta: an onboarding experience where the Vanta agent sets up, configures, and starts running a customer's security program for them, instead of handing them a checklist. The team owns how new small customers get from signup to value across the full platform (GRC, Trust Center, TPRM, Risk, Access, Privacy), and owns the product experience for onboarding a company to Vanta.

This role is equal parts art and science. The art is owning the vision for an onboarding experience where the Vanta agent does the heavy lifting, and sales, onboarding, and success teams step in where they add the most value, all as one seamless experience. The science is owning conversion and activation end to end and sweating the details of every step, experiment, and conversion between signup and value. This is a company-level initiative and the engine of Vanta’s acquisition and activation. It sets time to value, conversion, and expansion for every new customer, and it’s where Vanta proves that an agent can run a security program.

What you'll do as a Staff Product Manager, Activation at Vanta:

• Define the future of agentic AI onboarding at Vanta, including how the Vanta Agent can guide customers, complete setup on their behalf, and ultimately help run their security and compliance program.


• Own and drive the self-serve onboarding experience for startups and downmarket customers. You will be the single accountable owner for creating a coherent, high-converting journey from first interaction through meaningful product adoption.


• Partner across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Account Management to build one scalable self-serve program across products and packaging.


• Work across Vanta's product teams to make it effortless for customers to discover, configure, and adopt Vanta's products and platform capabilities as their needs evolve.


• Establish the strategy, roadmap, and operating model for product activation and onboarding across the customer lifecycle


• Partner with Engineering, Design, Data, and GTM teams to define success metrics, identify friction, run experiments, and improve activation and time-to-value

How to be successful in this role:

• Own the whole outcome. You will own a massive surface area spanning multiple departments, organizations, products, and customer segments. You feel accountable for creating one singular, coherent experience that makes Vanta feel seamless from the outside.


• Speak fluent GTM and Account Management. While we are building a self-serve motion, it must operate as one program across the customer segment. You understand how and when Sales, Customer Success, and Account Management should engage, and how to design the right handoffs between product-led and service-supported experiences.


• Earn trust quickly. As Vanta's product surface expands, you will work with PMs, designers, engineers, marketers, sales leaders, customer success partners, and account teams across the company. You build strong relationships quickly and bring people together around a clear customer and business outcome.


• Think in systems. You can connect individual onboarding moments to the broader platform, lifecycle, data, and operating systems required to support them at scale.


• Operate with clarity and conviction. You are comfortable making decisions in ambiguous environments, communicating tradeoffs, and creating momentum across teams without relying on formal authority.


• Build for the future. You are excited by the opportunity to define an AI-native and agentic onboarding experience, and you are thoughtful about how agents can safely and effectively help customers run their security programs.


• Uses AI in day-to-day work to amplify their skills and strengthen their outcomes, applying it across routine workflows, actively building fluency through experimentation, and exercising sound judgment to ensure AI-assisted work meets a high quality bar.
