About the role:

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team and help us develop the core systems powering client onboarding and reporting. You will work closely with a talented product and design team, stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment. The ideal candidate should be able to deliver across the tech stack and be eager to learn and apply new techniques and technologies.

This position is fully remote.

What you will do:

1. Design and build extensible systems that can grow with the business needs
2. Collaborate across disciplines to understand our domain and iterate on new ideas
3. Lead technical strategy and decision-making
4. Support the Garner app in production
5. Protect our users' privacy and security through secure coding practices

Technologies we use:

TypeScript, React, Python, NodeJS, Kubernetes, Istio, Postgres, ElasticSearch, NATS, AWS, Terraform

What you will bring to the team:

1. 7+ years of hands-on experience delivering full-stack software
2. Expertise in TypeScript or modern JavaScript
3. Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design rationale and concepts
4. Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling
5. Familiarity with React, NodeJS, Docker, and major cloud providers
6. Experience with data ecosystems such as DBT, Snowflake, Python
7. Experience working with database systems like PostgreSQL or ElasticSearch
8. Experience in Agile teams and fluency with Agile methodologies
9. Experience mentoring team members and acting as a technical multiplier
10. Willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' to ensure company success
11. Experience in a rapidly evolving startup environment
12. A passion to improve the U.S. healthcare system
13. Authorization to work lawfully in the U.S., as Garner does not sponsor visas

Compensation Transparency:

The target salary range is $230,000 - $250,000. Compensation depends on qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. This role includes participation in our equity incentive and benefits plans, such as flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plans, 401(k), Teladoc Health, and more.
