Job summary

fomo Labs in New York City is seeking a Staff Product Designer toshape an expanding product line across mobile and web. You will own end-to-end design, set direction with founders, product and engineering, and craft systems and patterns the team relies on.

This is a hands-on IC role; youll work in Figma and prototypes daily, collaborating closely with frontend engineers to ensure a unified, fast, and intuitive user experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product design experience at staff or lead level.
• Portfolio showing craft and strategic impact with outcomes.
• Experience setting direction for a product or platform and building/evolving a design system.
• Track record of influencing founders, product, and engineering without formal authority.
• Strong prototyping skills and comfort with AI tools.
• Autonomy and ownership on a small, flat team and willingness to help it grow.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of a full product line across mobile and web from strategy to shipped product.
• Set design direction with founders and engineering: translate ideas into a clear plan.
• Keep multiple product areas coherent so users move between them without relearning.
• Lead the architecture of the design system for trading, real-time data, charts, and social.
• Prototype fast and high-fidelity; collaborate with frontend engineers through implementation.
• Raise the craft bar through critique, design principles, and personal work.
• Help build the design team: hiring, interviewing, onboarding designers, and mentoring.
• Push how we use AI and new tooling to design and ship faster.
