What started as a voice AI agent for specialty appointment scheduling has grown into a platform with 285 million patient interactions, 62,000 care protocols, and 1.6 million decision pathways. The company has raised $222 million (including a $120 million Series C at a $1.2 billion valuation) and has been named to the Forbes Cloud 100 and the 2026 Enterprise Tech 30.### The roleThis Staff Product Designer role sits within the Product & Design department and focuses on shaping the experience and direction of Assort Health's AI-native products for clinic staff, patients, and internal operators. You would connect individual workflows to a coherent product vision, partner with Engineering, Product, and GTM leadership, and lead critical initiatives from discovery through launch. The role carries significant latitude to influence both the products themselves and how design works across the company.### What you would do* Define an experience vision with leadership, surface opportunities, and influence roadmap decisions across products.* Take ambiguous, complex design problems from discovery through launch, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities.* Design experiences that help clinic staff, patients, and internal operators understand, trust, and use AI effectively.* Anticipate cross-product dependencies, resolve fragmented workflows, and build patterns that scale across personas and touchpoints.* Define success metrics with cross-functional partners and use research, product data, and customer feedback to improve adoption, retention, and expansion.* Evolve the design system, strengthen collaboration with Engineering, and raise the overall quality bar for craft across the company.* Mentor other designers, provide critique, and make your reasoning clear enough to guide decisions beyond the work you directly own.### What they are looking for* A track record of shipping complex digital products and leading design initiatives that span teams or product areas (startup experience strongly preferred).* Evidence of shaping product strategy through design: identifying consequential problems, aligning stakeholders, and translating a longer-term vision into practical steps.* Experience designing for multiple personas and interconnected workflows, ideally in complex healthcare or AI-driven products.* Strong product judgment with a record of delivering measurable customer and business outcomes such as adoption, conversion, retention, or expansion.* A portfolio showing systems thinking and strong interaction and visual design, including full workflows, edge cases, and the reasoning behind decisions.* The ability to lead through influence: build alignment, navigate disagreement, and make sound decisions amid ambiguity.* Deep Figma expertise and experience building scalable components, patterns, and design systems.* Fluency using AI tools to accelerate exploration, research synthesis, prototyping, and communication.* Comfort using tools such as Figma Make and Cursor to explore working interactions and collaborate across the design-development boundary.* Nice to have: experience as an early or founding designer at a startup; experience designing AI interactions involving uncertainty and user trust; design engineering experience with an interest in contributing production UI or design system infrastructure.### Working arrangementsThe role is based in San Francisco and is hybrid.### Pay and benefitsSalary range is $215,000 - $260,000, plus equity (employee stock options).
