Job summary

Talkiatry Management Services is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead product design across AI-enabled experiences, patient portals, and the design system. You will translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy interfaces while collaborating with Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Clinical, and other teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience owning complex digital products from discovery through implementation and iteration.
• Portfolio showing strong product thinking, interaction design, and exceptional visual/UI craft.
• Strong experience designing rich web and native mobile products.
• Experience leading design with autonomy in ambiguous or zero-to-one spaces.
• Experience designing products where trust and transparency are critical to the user experience.
• Systems thinking balancing individual experiences with the broader product ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and responsive interface design.
• Strong user research skills, including planning and conducting user research and usability testing, then synthesizing insights.
• Experience creating and evolving scalable design systems or a strong point of view on how systems improve product quality and team velocity.
• Strong prototyping skills and the ability to communicate complex interactions before they are fully built.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and engineers, contributing to product strategy beyond execution.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, including facilitating critique and influencing senior partners.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and willingness to learn through experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design across Clinical AI experiences, patient portal flows, and design system evolution.
• Design AI-powered experiences that help patients between scheduled psychiatry sessions from concept to launch.
• Define how patients interact with conversational AI and establish novel design patterns.
• Improve core patient portal experiences including intake, appointment management, visit preparation.
• Translate AI capabilities and limitations into clear, trustworthy product experiences.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to influence product strategy and priorities.
• Prototype and test interaction patterns for conversational AI and traditional web/mobile experiences.
• Advocate for patient needs while guiding safety, trust, accessibility, and usability considerations.
• Conduct user research and usability testing, then validate decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Use research, data, experiments, and feedback to improve experiences after launch.
• Apply high-level interaction and visual craft from early thinking to polished execution.
• Lead as a senior IC design leader influencing decisions across owned areas and beyond.
• Evolve Talkiatry's design system and scaling patterns across web, mobile, and emerging models.
• Raise the craft bar through critique, mentorship, collaboration, and example-setting.

Talkiatry Management Services is building mental health care experiences that connect patients with clinical support through Clinical AI products, patient portal workflows, and an evolving design system. As a Staff Product Designer, you will lead product design across multiple strategic areas, define interaction patterns for conversational AI, and raise both visual craft and system scalability across web and mobile.

This remote role supports product work in an emerging space where established precedents may not exist. You will translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, transparent, and trustworthy experiences, while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Clinical, and other teams to shape what gets built and why.

What you will do

• Lead product design across Clinical AI experiences, patient portal flows, and design system evolution.
• Design AI-powered experiences that help patients between scheduled psychiatry sessions, from early concepts through launch and iteration.
• Define how patients interact with conversational AI, establishing patterns for experiences that may not yet have conventional design precedents.
• Improve core patient portal experiences, including intake flows, appointment management, visit preparation, and other touchpoints that support access and navigation of care.
• Translate AI capabilities and limitations into product experiences that feel clear, transparent, and trustworthy.
• Partner deeply with cross-functional teams across multiple product areas to influence product strategy and determine what the team builds.
• Prototype and test interaction patterns for conversational AI flows as well as traditional web and mobile experiences to reduce uncertainty.
• Advocate for patient needs while guiding teams through safety, trust, accessibility, and usability considerations across AI-powered and traditional experiences.
• Conduct user research and usability testing, then validate decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Use research, product data, experimentation, and qualitative feedback to improve experiences after launch.
• Apply exceptional interaction and visual design craft, from early product thinking through polished execution.
• Work as a senior individual-contributor design leader, influencing decisions across owned areas and beyond.
• Lead the evolution of Talkiatry's design system, defining the next generation of visual design language and scaling patterns across web, mobile, and emerging interaction models.
• Raise the craft bar across the Product Design team through critique, mentorship, collaboration, and example-setting.

Note: This role includes work on emerging AI experiences, but prior years of designing AI products are not required. Enthusiasm for the space and strong foundational product-design skills matter most.

Compensation and benefits
