Job summary

Salesforce is hiring Staff & Principal Product Data Scientists to help build a world-class data ecosystem that supports and scales data-driven product decision-making at Slack. You will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering (PDE), as well as Go-To-Market teams, to contribute directly to product development—shaping what we build, how we measure success, and how we iterate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product data science experience in tech industries.
• Data-driven decisions influence product teams and outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one data-science language (Python/R/Scala); Airflow desirable.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, ML, and analysis.
• Experience with large-scale data tech (Spark/Presto/Hive/Hadoop).
• Clear communication of analytics to executives and cross-functional teams.
• Related degree required (BS; MS/PhD strong plus).

Responsibilities

• Establish partnerships with product stakeholders to identify opportunities and roadmaps.
• Evangelize evidence-based decision-making and data accessibility.
• Evaluate drivers of Slack product adoption using data.
• Build key metrics frameworks and self-serve reporting.
• Prototype foundational data models with Data Engineering.
• Contribute to the design of Slack’s agentic data platform.
• Identify opportunities to improve user experiences and business value.
• Collaborate with Product Researchers to align roadmaps.
