Job summary

EPRI is seeking an Engineer at staff level IV to support research and development in grid modeling, stability analysis, and EMT modeling for transmission systems in Knoxville, TN. The role involves working with inverter-based renewables, large load analysis, and high-level algorithm development.

Ideal candidates hold an MS (or PhD) in Electrical Engineering with strong hands-on experience in PSCAD/EMTP, PSS/E/PSLF, and programming in Python or MATLAB.

Qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering (required).
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power systems is a plus.
• Experience with power system stability analysis and small-signal analysis required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze power systems with emphasis on stability and EMT modeling.
• Perform grid modeling and stability studies for high renewables penetration.
• Develop and validate RTDS/UDEM models and simulations.
