Qualifications

• 10+ years of production engineering experience with PostgreSQL at scale.
• Deep fluency in PostgreSQL internals and performance tuning.
• Experience designing benchmarking/regression-detection systems.
• Ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives and produce enduring documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose production performance problems by interpreting query plans and cluster configuration.
• Evaluate and implement cluster topology changes and async I/O migrations.
• Build benchmarking and regression-detection infrastructure for DB performance.
• Define performance contracts for the database layer and SLA boundaries.
• Lead query/schema reviews and drive incident response for performance issues.
• Mentor engineers on Postgres internals and performance implications at scale.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for continuous support.
