Job summary

Plaid is building the shared AI and data foundations that power its AI-enabled platforms. You will design and ship foundational capabilities spanning AI infrastructure, data tooling, and the connectors between them, partnering with data, ML, and platform engineers.

This is an experienced platform PM role focused on turning capabilities into reliable primitives, APIs, and tools used across Plaid, with emphasis on developer velocity, governance, and scalability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience building AI/ML platform systems or data infrastructure from concept to production.
• Deep fluency in modern data/AI systems, including data storage/processing, model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, early-stage environments and ship measurable capabilities.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup.
• Experience building scalable developer/data platforms with APIs/primitives.
• Ability to set long-term vision while delivering experiments, specs, prototypes, and launches.
• Strong communicator and cross-functional leader enabling decisions for technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to responsible AI and transparency in regulated/high-trust domains.
• Nice to Have: hands-on with LLMs/embeddings or agentic systems in production.
• Nice to Have: experience building AI developer tooling in production.
• Nice to Have: familiarity with applied AI in fintech, identity, or risk domains.

Responsibilities

• Define the AI & Data Foundations strategy, vision, and success metrics for shared Plaid platforms.
• Partner with data/ML/platform engineers to design and ship foundational AI infrastructure and developer tooling.
• Improve Internal Developer Experience by reducing friction and increasing adoption and velocity across Plaid teams.
• Balance short-term requests with long-term platform investments, standardization, and shared primitives.
• Collaborate with product, security, data, and research to embed capabilities across Plaid.
• Translate complex platform trade-offs into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
