Job summary

Manifold is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to build the secure infrastructure and deployment foundation for our software from the ground up. You will own systems that take our application from source code to production across commercial and classified environments, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, security scanning, and accreditation work.

This is an early, high-ownership role. You will work closely with software engineers, customers, and deployment partners to turn a rapidly evolving

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in Platform Eng/DevSecOps/DevOps/SRE or related roles.
• Deep experience deploying and operating cloud software in AWS.
• Hands-on CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Strong fundamentals: testing, version control, debugging, system design.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Bash, or similar.
• IaC experience, preferably Terraform.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployment.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
• Strong communication, able to explain decisions to customers/stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• US-based US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment architecture from first principles across commercial, unclassified, and classified environments.
• Build secure CI/CD and software delivery pipelines with SAST/DAST/secret and dependency scanning.
• Make environments reproducible and portable with Infrastructure-as-Code and DISA STIG/NIST controls.
• Collaborate with external vendors and customers through ATO across classifications.
• Own security and reliability foundations: secrets, PKI, provenance, observability, backups, incident response.
• Create faster engineering delivery with developer environments, tooling, and deployment workflows.
