Job summary

Astronomer is seeking a Staff+-level engineer to shape the foundational platform systems that power Astro, Observe, and the IDE at scale across multi-cloud environments.

You will own the platform infrastructure strategy, decide what to build or buy, and write the design docs and code that prove the approach, working in a fast-paced, globally distributed team with high stakes for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of production distributed systems and failure modes.
• Kubernetes at operator depth and real load handling.
• Strong Go proficiency with production-grade systems.
• Multi-cloud experience across AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Experience defining requirements and driving tech choices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in distributed teams.
