Job summary

The Trade Desk in Bellevue, WA seeks a senior technical leader to define the architectural roadmap for its partner-facing platform. You’ll design scalable services across GraphQL, REST, and frontend/back-end stacks (TypeScript/React and C#/.NET) and guide cross-team decisions on schema governance, security, and observability.

Lead by example with hands-on coding, mentoring, and building reusable platform services, while ensuring reliability, performance, and a strong developer experience across

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex software initiatives from definition to production.
• Experience as a Staff-level technical authority with hands-on coding.
• Ability to grow engineers and lead cross-team initiatives affecting multiple groups.
• Translate ambiguous product visions into executable architecture and plans.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and modern delivery practices.
• Experience designing durable APIs, especially GraphQL federation and REST/interfaces.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript/React; backend with C# and SQL modeling.
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs on usability, scalability, security, privacy, and speed.
• Clear communication with engineers, product leaders, and partners.
• 10+ years in professional software engineering; leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and architectural roadmap for the partner-facing platform.
• Lead scalable platform design across GraphQL, REST, SDKs, and micro-frontends.
• Contribute code in TypeScript/React and C#/.NET GraphQL services.
• Establish standards for schemas, security, observability, and data modeling.
• Improve partner onboarding, testing, and certification workflows.
• Turn cross-team needs into reusable platform services and components.
• Guide governance, tooling, and architecture decisions with a focus on reliability and security.
