Job summary

AlphaSense in the United States seeks a Staff Engineer to lead the Cloud Platform and Kubernetes-based infrastructure. You will shape architectural roadmaps, drive scalability, and partner with senior engineers across teams to deliver high‑performing, AI‑friendly platforms.

You will own operations, improve security, cost efficiency, and reliability while promoting standardized practices and self-service workflows for a Build it – Own it culture.

Qualifications

• Extremely experienced in Kubernetes and AWS cloud.
• Proven track record of running Kubernetes and Cloud based production SaaS systems at scale.
• Deep understanding of networking and Production level usage of service meshes and gateways.
• Strong operational and troubleshooting skills with Kubernetes, Databases, Messaging Systems and Storage.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang, preferably via building infrastructure tooling or control plane components.
• Evangelist of highly performant CI/CD practices that support agentic workflows.
• Ability to design, lead, influence and deliver on ambitious technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate and evolve our Cloud and Kubernetes based Platform.
• Continuously improve security, reliability, cost efficiency and performance of our infrastructure.
• Champion standards to promote uniformisation and avoid duplication.
• Collaborate with Product teams to enable and empower them to build and own their services.
• Work with Platform teams to create a coherent and quality Platform.
• Enable self-service and agentic workflow patterns that support Build it - Own it.
• Build tooling and AI powered integrations that reduce cognitive load in complex operations.
• Provide support for the systems to a globally distributed Engineering organisation.
• Execute, automate and support operational tasks on complex systems.
• Architect, design and implement simple and maintainable solutions.
