Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to help build, operate and scale cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines and build systems across Japan, the UK and the US. You’ll work on reliable, secure environments enabling rapid software delivery and testing for Wayve’s autonomous driving platform.

You will join as one of the first two DevOps engineers in Japan, balancing hands-on work with coverage for global developer support during Japan working hours.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of DevOps, cloud infra, CI/CD or build engineering experience.
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• CI/CD tooling: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Buildkite or Azure DevOps.
• Linux, Git and shell scripting are essential.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and improve cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, primarily in Azure.
• Develop and maintain IaC, automation and developer tooling for reliable delivery.
• Operate and scale CI/CD services, including agents, runners and artifact storage.
• Implement observability and monitor system health; troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with Japan, UK and US teams to meet platform needs and enable scalable software delivery.
• Contribute to DevOps support channels, incident response and RCA efforts.
