Job summary

CircleCI is the world’s largest CI/CD platform, empowering engineers to build, test, and deploy with AI-assisted tooling. The On-Prem team ships a secure, self-hosted CircleCI that runs in customers’ environments, including air‑gapped networks and strict data residency requirements.

As a Staff Engineer, you’ll own Server’s Kubernetes foundation and platform strategy, drive reliability and release automation, and mentor engineers to raise the quality bar.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend/infrastructure experience.
• Strong Go programming experience.
• Deep Kubernetes/Helm experience in production.
• Experience with on-prem/self-hosted deployments.
• API design and distributed systems knowledge.
• Technical leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-natively. AI is how we work.
• Own platform strategy and make shipping into Server easier for every team.
• Provide confidence to customers installing, upgrading, and running CircleCI Server.
• Own Server's foundation, including Kubernetes infrastructure and internal tooling.
• Standardize observability with OpenTelemetry and build diagnostics for operators.
• Partner with Product and Engineering Management to align technical work with business goals.
