Job summary

ByteSearch is partnering with a high-growth technology company to hire a Staff Platform Engineer for its US infrastructure team. This is a senior, hands-on position offering genuine ownership over scalable systems and critical platform decisions.

You’ll lead technical projects spanning cloud infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, observability, security and internal tooling, while coding and guiding engineers across the business.

Qualifications

• 8+ years across software, infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Strong system design and debugging fundamentals.
• Experience operating production systems in the cloud.
• Infrastructure-as-code and containerisation experience.
• Exposure to databases, asynchronous systems and distributed applications.
• Ability to lead through technical judgment and execution.

This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who wants genuine ownership rather than a narrowly defined area of responsibility. You’ll improve the infrastructure behind a growing software platform, lead important technical projects and make decisions that influence engineers across the business.

The role spans:

• Cloud infrastructure, automation and platform reliability
• CI/CD and deployment workflows
• Performance, scalability and cost optimisation
• Observability and incident response
• Security and operational standards
• Internal tooling and consistent development environments
• Technical direction across infrastructure projects

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who still enjoys writing code and working directly on difficult technical problems. You should be comfortable operating independently, diagnosing issues across complex systems and taking projects from an initial idea through to production.

You’ll likely have:

• 8+ years across software, infrastructure or platform engineering
• Strong system design and debugging fundamentals
