Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking an experienced platform engineer to architect and operate its enterprise data platform on Azure. The role involves leading infrastructure engineering for data systems and mentoring engineers.

Architect and operate the enterprise data platform on Azure, including storage, compute, and streaming layers.
Develop reusable platform frameworks for ingestion, orchestration, and workflow execution.
Own infrastructure engineering for data systems including compute, storage, and identity integration.
Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines.
Design platform observability, monitoring, and governance frameworks.
Lead system integration patterns including event-driven and batch architectures.
Support M&A integration through scalable platform onboarding.
Partner with analytics and data teams to enable platform usage.
Provide architectural leadership and mentor engineers.
8+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or large-scale distributed systems.
Strong experience building and operating cloud-native platforms on Azure (compute, storage, networking).
Hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent) and CI/CD automation.
Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient systems with defined SLAs/SLOs.
Experience with system integration patterns (event-driven architectures, APIs, streaming systems).
Strong understanding of identity, access control, secure platform design (e.g., Entra ID).
Experience implementing observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) for platforms.
Proven ability to lead cross-team platform initiatives and define engineering standards.
Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills across engineering & data org.
Experience supporting large-scale data platforms (lakehouse, warehouse, or streaming systems).
Familiarity with tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, dbt or Fivetran from a platform enablement standpoint.
Experience in regulated industries (Financial Services, Wealth Management, Healthcare).
Background in M&A systems integration and onboarding complex environments.
Experience with multi-region architectures and disaster recovery design.
Understanding of infrastructure requirements for AI/ML platforms.
Relevant cloud or infrastructure certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP).
